The Sungkyun Journal of East Asian Studies (SJEAS), published since the year 2001 by the Academy of East Asian Studies (AEAS) at Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, Korea, is a refereed multi-disciplinary journal dedicated to East Asian Studies. With original contributions from all over the world and an increasing readership, SJEAS enjoys a growing reputation in the field of East Asian Studies. SJEAS, published biannually in April and October, is indexed and abstracted in Current Contents/ Arts & Humanities, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI), and Scopus. This year marked the 10th anniversary in October. In order to celebrate its birthday, SJEAS published a special issue on transnationalism, including Professor Timothy Brook¡¯s (UBC) article entitled ¡°Capital Punishment and State Sovereignty in China¡± and Professor Peter Yun's (Youngsan University) book review on Establishing a Pluralist Society in Medieval Korea, 918-1170.
